Visual Sunday: Aussie Muscle

In Europe we probably tend to forget that the Aussies love their muscle cars just as much as the Yanks do. Ford are widely acclaimed for building the first Aussie muscle car in 1967 when they dropped a 289 Mustang V8 engine into their Aussie-market four-door Falcon – thus creating the Falcon GTXR. But Holden quickly followed suit in 1968 with their Holden Monaro GTS 327, which in turn became the first Aussie muscle car to be sporting a coupé body.
